He also made a trip to China in 2013 where he played in wind band concerts in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, and Zhengzhou.
Matt graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Church Music from Lee University where he studied with Tina Erickson, Philip Morehead, and Nathan Warner. He has been playing trumpet since 2005, and has been teaching trumpet since 2012.
In addition to playing trumpet, Matt also sings and plays guitar, which he does weekly as the worship leader at Burks. He also enjoys running, hiking, kayaking, disc golf, and ultimate frisbee.
